mediumI’ve never made a bday cake before so I chose the safe route by making her classic tiramisu (look how i improvised). This isn’t the authentic version, which doesn’t involve cream, but the taste is 10/10 I made a not-too-sweet version, so feel free to add more sugar to ur liking
Ingredients
• 4 egg yolks
• 3/4 cup heavy cream
• 0.8 cup 190ml strong coffee / espresso
• 1tbsp 15ml rum
• 1 cup mascarpone 227g
• ladyfingers 1 pack 200g
• 50g granulated sugar
• unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
Step 1
- add sugar to the yolks and whisk over hot water until doubled in size and the color turns pale
Step 2
- whisk heavy cream in a separate bowl until peaks form ( do not overwhip), then gently fold in mascarpone and the yolk mixture. chill the fridge while preparing the coffee mixture
Step 3
- combine rum and coffee, then quickly dip ladyfingers in
Step 4
- form the first layer of the tiramisu with dipped ladyfingers, then add a layer of cream, then repeat
Step 5
- chill for several hours, or preferably overnight ( i promise it’ll taste a lottt better)
Step 6
- before serving, dust a (thick) layer of cocoa powder on top, then enjoy
